Input sought from Fayetteville residents on Cape Fear River improvements
City officials are looking into plans to bring new life along the Cape Fear River, including more recreation, retail and living space along the river inside Fayetteville.
Posted — UpdatedThe city plans to spend $6.3 million of the $35 million park bond approved by voters in March to build a river park off Person Street. The current timeline calls for the park's construction by 2022.
It would be Fayetteville's most significant investment near the river in decades.
Residents will have a chance during a 7 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall to discuss what they would like to see along the river and what they might want to keep away from the area, such as industrial plants.
