Polkton, N.C. — A prison inmate who was serving 40 years for the 2013 murder of a Raleigh man died on Saturday from an apparent suicide, officials said.
Tony Davis, 26, was found unresponsive around 5 a.m. in his cell at Lanesboro Correctional Institution, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety. Prison medical staff and paramedics were unable to revive him.
