Halifax County authorities were searching Friday for a 24-year-old man accused of statutory rape.

<b>HOLLISTER, N.C.</b> — Halifax County authorities were searching Friday for a 24-year-old man accused of statutory rape.

Jerry Jerome Richardson, of Hollister, had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl, detectives with the Halifax County Sheriff's Office said.

Anyone with information about Richardson's whereabouts is asked to the sheriff's office at 252-583-8201 or Crime Stoppers at 252-583-4444. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that solve crimes.

Richardson was two misdemeanor convictions for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, according to state Division of Adult Correction records.
