Hit, run driver kills toddler near Mount Olive
The state Highway Patrol asked for help Friday in identifying the driver who hit and killed a toddler near Mount Olive.
Posted — UpdatedMOUNT OLIVE, N.C. — The state Highway Patrol asked for help Friday in identifying the driver who hit and killed a toddler near Mount Olive.
Ismael Alexa Lopez Aleman wandered into Garner Chapel Road between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Friday, and a black car hit the 21-month-old boy and kept going, according to Highway Patrol spokesman 1st Sgt. Jeff Gordon.
The car fled the scene headed north toward Mount Olive. The vehicle likely has a dent on the front right or damage to the right headlight.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the North Carolina State Highway Patrol at 1-800-334-7411.
