Heroin, guns, cash seized in Wayne County raid; two charged

Wayne County authorities seized $6,000 worth of heroin, 15 guns and more than $26,000 in U.S. currency on Wednesday while executing a search warrant at a home on Purple Iris Drive in Pikeville.

PIKEVILLE, N.C. — Wayne County authorities seized $6,000 worth of heroin, 15 guns and more than $26,000 in U.S. currency on Wednesday while executing a search warrant at a home on Purple Iris Drive in Pikeville.

Investigators with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, State Bureau of Investigation and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration went to the home as part of an ongoing investigation into the distribution of heroin in and around Goldsboro.

Kenneth Sauls, 61, and Stacey Renard Pittman, 43, were charged following the raid.

Sauls was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver heroin, selling or delivering heroin and maintaining a dwelling for controlled substance. He was in the Wayne County jail Thursday under a $6,500 secured bond. 

Pittman was charged with intent to sell or deliver heroin. He was in the Wayne County jail Thursday under a $5,000 secured bond.
