FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — State health officials on Saturday confirmed that a fox that bit a child at a Fayetteville elementary school was infected with rabies.

The child was bitten Friday at E.E. Miller Elementary School, at 1361 Rim Road. Officials said the child has started post-rabies exposure treatment.

The positive test is the fourth case of rabies in the county in 2015, officials said.
