<b>HALIFAX, N.C.</b> — A Halifax man faces accusations that he inappropriately touched a 13-year-old, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Halifax County detectives said they arrested Clifton Ray Nethery II, 52, on Monday after receiving a report about a possible sex crime a day earlier.

Nethery was charged with second-degree sexual offense and taking indecent liberties with a child. He was given a $125,000 bond and scheduled to appear in court May 23.

Investigators said that Nethery knew the teen before the alleged sexual abuse, but they declined to release more details in order to protect the teen's identity.
