— One man was wounded late Thursday in a shooting at an apartment complex near North Carolina State University's Centennial Campus, police said.

The shooting occurred in the 600 block of Chappell Drive, off Avent Ferry Road, shortly before 9:30 p.m. Police said a robbery in an apartment led to gunfire.

Jamelle Leshaea Williams, 26, who was shot in the back, was taken to WakeMed for treatment of what police called serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Police were questioning residents of the complex and were searching for the gunman.

A man who lives in the complex said he came home from dinner to find Williams shot on the floor of his apartment.

A woman who lives in the complex said she was watching a movie with her grandsons and didn't hear any gunshots but was alerted to the shooting as the victim banged on apartment doors for help.

Once again WRAL tries to sensationalize to push their agenda. I am sure this had nothing to do with NCSU, but to report that one criminal shot another would not serve to inflame as much as if it happened on a school campus. One more example of why the media needs restriction.

Why was this person shot in the back? There's something not being reported here. Evidently, not everyone had a weapon is my guess. But it still doesn't explain why someone who was obviously running away was shot while doing so. I'm sure if they'd had a gun, they would have been facing their adversary, so evidently they were either unarmed or they were too afraid to draw their weapon. In any case, it doesn't make sense and there must be more to this story than what's been reported.

I asked for facts not an opinion but didn't think I'd get any either. But some would also argue that the Constitution no longer applies as well.

There is nothing in the account you stated is true they had a trial thingy about what happened in Florida so who's been under a rock?

"BTW, in Florida you can START an argument and then shoot (and kill) someone because they refuse to bow down to a random CITIZEN’s questions / orders."

What? When did this happen? Facts only please. - 68_dodge_polara

It is a shame that some people like to pick and choose what parts of a story they will remember... Black HelicoptersNFood Insurance knows exactly how it went down, but is sadly in denial. I have no sympathy for you.

You must have been under a rock for the entire year of 2013. Just because you don’t like a fact and pretend they didn't happen does not mean it is untrue.

Amendment II A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. TheRealThing: I don't see anything in that amendment that says you can shoot someone because you are arguing with them...-nascar33

What militia was the gunman a part of, how was it “well regulated,” and what did he or it do to help the “security of a free State?” Now answer those same questions for yourself.
