HALIFAX, N.C. — A Greenville man is accused of getting a bank card in another man's name and using it in three counties, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

A man reported to the sheriff's office that someone had gotten a bank card in his name and used at an ATM to withdraw money from his account.

Detective Roy Rooks investigated and on Thursday charged Jarvis Montae Bullock, 24, with two counts each of felony identity theft and obtaining property by false pretenses.

Rooks said that Bullock lived at a residence where the victim used to stay. Bullock used the card at stores and ATMs in Halifax, Nash and Pitt counties, the detective said.

Bullock was given a $5,000 bond and a first court date of Dec. 9.

According to state Department of Correction records, Bullock was placed on probation Aug. 17 for obtaining a signature by false pretenses.
