— A Greensboro middle school teacher was arrested Wednesday and charged with sex crimes against children.

Harold Robert Grant Jr., 57, of 4104 Galway Drive, faces four counts of taking indecent liberties with children. He is also charged with a sex offense in the second degree, child abuse felony injury and a crime against nature.

Guilford County Sheriff B.J. Barnes said the four victims are now adults. The arrest was part of an ongoing investigation that started in 1993. The alleged incidents occurred between 1993 and 2001, Barnes said.

Grant was a teacher at Southeast Middle School.

Grant was being held under a $100,000 bond at the Guilford County jail on Wednesday.

"... Ha! What evidence can you possibly have now that you didn’t have then, except that some psychologist has convinced a “victim” that all their problems can be blamed on some conveniently repressed event in their past."

Are you afraid for yourself or others, STheS?

U.S. Government HYPOCRITES It is a dirty little secret that children continue to be struck with boards for SCHOOL discipline purposes in 20 states. It is a dangerous practice, a practice that is not evidence based, and a practice that puts us at odds with over l00 countries which have banned it.

North Carolina lawmakers recently dumped legislation to give parents a say in physical punishment of their chilren in schools.

People with SPANKING FETISHES work in occupations that give them access to children like hospitals, schools, boy scouts, etc. and over 2,500 teachers were punished in a 5 year period since 2000 for inappropriate sexual relations with our nation's school children, and women teachers are sexually preying on children at an increasingly alarming rate, which is why PHYSICAL/CORPORAL PUNISHMENT OF CHILDREN IN SCHOOLS MUST BE ABOLISHED IMMEDIATELY!

Sorry folks, this one just doesn’t fly for me....

If there are inappropriate actions the charges should be brought MUCH SOONER than 15 years after the incident.

Picture yourself in this situation: I accuse you of rape. It happened on the afternoon of February 5, 1993, around 3:30 PM. I describe all the details. (Aside: If I actually knew you back then, it wouldn’t be too hard to come up with some pretty convincing details.)

Now, defend yourself. Do YOU remember where you were and what you were doing that long ago?

“Ongoing investigation.” Ha! What evidence can you possibly have now that you didn’t have then, except that some psychologist has convinced a “victim” that all their problems can be blamed on some conveniently repressed event in their past.

IMHO, there is absolutely NO REASON for this sort of delay. If we allow even as much as an inquiry, then we are ALL at similar risk for the same type of accusations.

"...ongoing investigation that started in 1993. The alleged incidents occurred between 1993 and 2001..."

What took so long? This is shameful.
