Goldsboro police: Mother caught men in bed with teen

Posted September 9, 2013

— Goldsboro police arrested two men Saturday after a mother said she caught the men in bed with her 14-year-old daughter.

Officers responded to East Walnut Street shortly before 1 a.m. and saw the teenager running from the house with her mother chasing after her.

The teenager, whose name was not released, admitted to having sex with one of the men, police said. Officers found both men still inside the house and arrested them.

Daryl Lynwood Locklear, 31, whose address was listed as "the streets of Goldsboro," was charged with one count of statutory rape of a person who is 13, 14 or 15 years old by a defendant who is at least six years older than the victim.

Locklear is a registered sex offender, police said. He was being held in the Wayne County jail under a $500,000 secured bond.

Joseph Carl Thomas, 32, of 603 E. Walnut St., was charged with indecent liberties with a child and was being held under a $45,000 secured bond.

I love how whenever there is an article like this, the comments section fills up with junk about how evil teenage seductresses act older than they are and lure poor men into sex. They're both old enough to be her father; regardless of what she was doing, how she was acting, and what she was wearing, they are old enough to know better. And she, according to the law, is not old enough to give consent. So now they get to go to jail where pedophiles should live.

Some pretty judgemental folks posting on here. Why in the world do you always assume that because a teen..espcially a girl gets up to mischief that the parents are to blame? That there was no decent upbringing etc? I remember well in HS that the kids with 2 parents in the house, church going, upper middle class, yadda, yadda, yadda were always up to far more "wrong" things than the others. Drinking, sex, reckless driving... you name it, they were the ones instigating and carrying on far more than those on the "wrong" side of town.

These so called men need to pay the price for messing with an underage girl. Yes, I know, there are in fact many very young girls who do actively go after men regardless of age. They do lie and come on to men...but these adults should have walked away...no, run away.

    This is horrible!

This one is actually fairly easy to make sense of.

Joseph Carl Thomas appears to reside at the home and given his age, he is probably friend of the mother. Daryl Lynwood Locklear is a friend of Joseph Carl Thomas and hence why he was at the home at 1am. The mother just woke up and stumbled upon her friend and his buddy in bed with her daughter.

"What is wrong is the progressives and the ACLU have thrown the moral compass out the window" -- HAHAHAHAHAAAA!

Trust me, the ACLU and progressives had nothing to do with the fact that this 14 yr old BROUGHT MEN HOME TO HER HOUSE TO HAVE SEX WITH!

THE PARENTS, SLEEPING IN THE NEXT ROOM and her up bringing are responsible! What kind of child would feel free to bring this mess home?
