Goldsboro man charged in connection with two sexual assaults
A 22-year-old Goldsboro man was charged Monday in connection with two sexual assaults that happened in June, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A 22-year-old Goldsboro man was charged Monday in connection with two sexual assaults that happened in June, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.
Michael McLean Smith, of 242 Mt. Airy Road, faces two counts of statutory rape/statutory sex offense.
According to investigators, Smith lied about his age to two underage girls before assaulting them. He was arrested Monday on a dirt path in the northern end of Wayne County after a brief search.
Smith was in the Wayne County jail Tuesday under a $950,000 secured bond.
