Girl Safe After Carjacker Ditches Vehicle
A 4-year-old girl was found unharmed late Sunday after a man stole a car while she was in the back seat, police said.
Posted — UpdatedAn unidentified woman left her daughter inside the vehicle at about 11:15 p.m. Sunday while she went into a home on the 800 block of Nighthawk Place. A white man with a Mohawk-style haircut jumped into the car while the woman was inside the house and drove off, police said.
The man ditched the car about six miles away and fled on foot. The girl got out and flagged down a passing car, police said.
Police were using K-9 officers to search for the man near Highland Place apartments off Reilly Road.
No charges were expected to be filed against the mother, police said.
