ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A Georgia man was arrested Thursday morning and charged in a shooting death in Rocky Mount more than two years ago, police said.

Brandon Karim Bland, 33, of Augusta, Ga., was charged with first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. He was being held in Georgia awaiting extradition to North Carolina.

Marcella Hunter, 21, was shot to death inside his home on Williford Street in Rocky Mount on Dec. 23, 2008, police said. Dominique Ransome, 21, was wounded during the incident.

Investigators said the shootings occurred during a home invasion, but they weren't able to identify the two men involved. Police received new information in the case last month that led to Bland's arrest.

Police said they are still trying to identify the second man involved in the shootings.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 252-977-1111.
