Friends' fight ends in stabbing, Orange County authorities say

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. — The Orange County Sheriff's Office was investigating a stabbing in Hillsborough early Friday, which involved two longtime friends who tend to fight when they drink alcohol, authorities said. 

The stabbing happened around 4:30 a.m. at a mobile home on Lot 12 on Alice Street, authorities said.

The stabbing victim, who sustained injuries to his shoulder, was being treated at UNC Hospitals. His name and condition were not released, but the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, the sheriff's office said.

Authorities are searching for the other man involved in the fight. His name was not released. However, he may have cuts and bruises on his face, authorities said.

Authorities said they are not sure which man was the primary aggressor. No other details were released.
