Four people shot behind church in Rocky Mount
Four people were shot behind Word Tabernacle Church on Edwards Street in Rocky Mount Monday evening, police said.
Posted — UpdatedROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Four people were shot on a basketball court behind Word Tabernacle Church on Edwards Street in Rocky Mount Monday evening, police said.
Officers responded to the area, which is near Edwards Street, at about 6:30 p.m.
Authorities have not released the names of the victims, but all four were taken to local hospitals. One was flown to Vidant Medical Center in Pitt County.
Neighbors said at least one of the victims was a child.
Monday's shooting comes less than two weeks after a 15-year-old was shot and killed in the 700 block of East Highland Avenue.
