Four men sought in robbery at Chapel Hill bookstore

Police were searching Friday for four men identified as suspects in a common-law robbery at a Borders bookstore on Fordham Boulevard May 8.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Police were searching Friday for four men identified as suspects in a common-law robbery at a Borders bookstore at 1807 Fordham Blvd.

Investigators said the suspects snatched a purse from a woman walking into the store around 5 p.m. on May 8. They fled in a white 1999 Lexus sedan.

Robert "Rob" Christopher Williams, 19; Ricky Michael Edwards, 18; Dennis Morris Jenkins, 19; and Littbarski S. Blackwood, 19, each face one count of common-law robbery.

Police said that members of the public should not approach the suspects.

According to North Carolina Department of Correction records, Blackwood was placed on probation in Florida last May for two burglaries committed there in November 2007.

Calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential and anonymous, and callers may be eligible for a cash reward up to $2,000 for information that leads to arrest.
