Four injured in Nash County wreck
Four people were injured in a single vehicle wreck on U.S. 264 in Nash County on Saturday, the highway patrol said.
Posted — UpdatedA Nissan Exterra was traveling west on U.S. 264 at Massey Road when the driver fell asleep at the wheel and the vehicle drifted off the road to the left, troopers said. The driver over-corrected and the SUV came back onto the roadway, but overturned at least five times before landing on its side.
The driver, Javier Beckerra, 19, of Durham, was ejected from the vehicle. He is charged with reckless driving.
The front passenger Roy Skile, 20, of Florida, was also ejected from the vehicle. Troopers said he was not wearing a seat-belt.
The backseat passengers Christopher Kline, 20, of Rocky Mount, and Santos Venegas, 19, were each pinned in the vehicle. They were wearing seat-belts.
The men were transported to WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh. Skile was listed in critical and Kline was listed in good condition Saturday night.
The group was traveling from Barton College to Louisburg.
