FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A car ran off the side of Interstate 95 south of Fayetteville and flipped over, injuring four family members Friday afternoon.

State troopers said that the driver lost control of the car on I-95 North near mile marker 46 and the N.C. Highway 877 exit around 4:45 p.m. The car ran off the right side of the road, and the driver over-corrected, sending the car off the left side of the road, troopers said.

The car flipped over several times before coming to a rest.

Four occupants, including a baby, were suffered non-life-threatening injuries. They were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The wreck was off to the side of the road, but caused some onlooker delays to traffic, troopers said.

The driver told troopers that everyone else in the car was asleep when the wreck occurred, but she did not know what caused her to lose control of the car.

Troopers said the family was coming home from attending a graduation in Fort Jackson, S.C.

The cause of the wreck was still under investigation late Friday. There was no immediate word on whether charges will be filed.
