GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A former employee of the Boys & Girls Club of Wayne County was arrested Thursday in connection with two sexual assaults that were reported to police.

Christopher Devon Sims, 23, of 908-A Slaughter St., Goldsboro, is charged with first-degree statutory sex offense and two counts each of felony indecent liberties with a child and felony sex offense by institution custodian.

According to investigators, Sims sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl and 11-year-old girl at the Boys & Girl Club, at 1401 Royall Avenue, during the summer of 2014.

Sims was fired on July 1, 2014, after an incident involving a 15-year-old girl was reported to the Boys & Girls Club staff, police said. The incident involving the 11-year-old was reported to police in March 2015.

Sims was in the Wayne County jail Friday under a $250,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 19.
