A former corrections officer at the Federal Correctional Institution in Butner was sentenced Thursday to 13 months in prison for sexually assaulting an inmate.

<b>NEW BERN, N.C.</b> — A former corrections officer at the Federal Correctional Institution in Butner was sentenced Thursday to 13 months in prison for sexually assaulting an inmate.

Calvin Terrance Davis, 46, of Spring Lake, pleaded guilty in June to criminal sexual abuse of a ward.

An inmate told authorities that Davis forced her to perform a sex act in May 2016, and DNA tests confirmed his semen was on her clothing, authorities said.
