First responders in Guilford County on Sunday helped out an adorable four-legged patient.

WXII reports Guilford County EMS responded to a fire with the Pleasant Garden and Greensboro fire departments.

The first responders noticed a five-week-old puppy suffering from smoke inhalation.

After giving the puppy some oxygen therapy, it perked back up.

Guilford County EMS posted to Twitter:

"We care about every patient, and sometimes that means not just the human ones! Excited to report that puppy perked up after a few minutes and is safely back with mom!"

Crews said three dogs were rescued in all. They are all doing okay.
