Fire tears through Clayton mobile home

Authorities evacuated a nearby home after a fire broke out in a mobile home in Clayton early Friday.

CLAYTON, N.C. — Authorities evacuated a nearby home after a fire broke out in a mobile home in Clayton early Friday.

The fire started at the single-wide mobile home on West Stallings Street around 1:20 a.m. Flames quickly tore through the building, but everyone inside made it out safely.

The intensity of the fire prompted authorities to evacuate a nearby home as a precaution. No one was injured.

Clayton firefighters, police officers and medical workers spent hours at the scene.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
