Fire Closes 3 Classrooms at Knightdale School

The school was evacuated and classes disrupted for about an hour before the fire was extinguished.

KNIGHTDALE, N.C. — A fire was reported Friday morning at Forestville Road Elementary School in Knightdale. According to Wake schools spokesman Bill Poston, the fire started around 10:15 a.m. when a teacher noticed smoke coming from a bathroom.

The school was evacuated and classes disrupted for about an hour before the fire was extinguished.

Smoke damage affected three classrooms which remain closed to students and teachers as a result.

The cause of the fire was not known.
