Fingerprint match solves 6-year-old case
The fingerprints of a statutory rape suspect matched those lifted from the scene of a 2003 commercial break-in, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

Bryan David Cannady, 23, of 1239 Suggs Drive in Fayetteville, was recently charged with two counts of statutory rape stemming from incidents in 2009. Authorities said that fingerprints taken while he was being processed matched those of the man suspected of breaking into Ratcliff Ironworks and Associates, 2421 Wilmington Highway, on Nov. 14, 2003.
In that case, a Kodak camera, an external hard drive and vending machine snacks were stolen from the business worth about $250, investigators said.
Cannady was charged with breaking-and-entering, larceny after breaking-and-entering and possession of stolen goods. He was released under a $5,000 unsecured bond. His first court appearance is set for Friday afternoon.
Cannady has a previous conviction for possesion of a controlled substance, according to state Department of Correction records.
