RALEIGH, N.C. — A fight over a woman might have been a motive in a fatal shooting last month, according to a search warrant made public Thursday.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on Sept. 13, officers responded to reports of gunfire at the intersection of Capital and Crabtree boulevards, where they found Francisco Aurelio Kelly, 18, dead and three teens – a boy and two girls – injured.

The Sept. 14 warrant, for a trailer at 1019 N. Spring Garden Circle in Raleigh, states that there was supposed to have been a fight at nearby Crabtree Park.

Kelly was involved in the fight and was subsequently shot and killed, the warrant states.

Investigators later arrested Martin Perez Botello, 24, of 1019 N. Spring Garden Circle, on one count of murder and three counts of attempted murder.

Hidden between two mattresses and wrapped in a T-shirt, police found 9 mm pistol that matched the caliber shell casings recovered at the crime scene, the warrant said.

Among items seized from the residence was a 9 mm semi-automatic rifle, 23 rounds of Winchester 9 mm ammunition, a Ruger 9 mm semi-automatic pistol and five pairs of tennis shoes.
