RALEIGH, N.C. — The FBI has tripled the size of its anti-terrorism task force in North Carolina since last month's attacks.

Officials say the extra people are needed to help handle the nearly 2,000 telephone tips the office gets every day. There used to be 10 members of the North Carolina task force, but now there are 30.

The bureau has also used more than 100 agents from federal, state and local law enforcement agencies across the state since Sept. 11.
