FBI asking for help in homicide case where man found dead in NC mountains

The FBI Charlotte bureau and the National Park Service are asking the public for information to help with a homicide investigation.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The FBI Charlotte bureau and National Park Service are asking the public for information to help with a homicide investigation.

On Oct. 9, Josue Calderon of Rhode Island was found dead along the Blue Ridge Parkway near milepost 289.8 in Blowing Rock. Calderon was 33.

The FBI found that Calderon traveled with two other men in a 2018 silver Chevy Equinox with Florida license plate KBY E67 from Rhode Island to North Carolina. The agency is trying to develop a more detailed timeline of the crime.
