Fayetteville Woman Shot to Death, Police Say

A woman whose body was found along a dirt path Saturday morning was shot to death, police said Monday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A woman whose body was found along a dirt path Saturday morning was shot to death, police said Monday.

Maria "Teresa" Pena-Duran's body was found on a dirt path between North McPherson Church Road and Wagoner Drive just after 9 a.m. She was a resident of the nearby Cambridge Arms apartment complex.

Police said they have not established a motive in the shooting.

Officers released a Spanish-language flier requesting the public's assistance in solving the death.
Anyone with information about activities in the area between 6:30 and 8 a.m. Saturday or people that frequent the area is asked to call Detective T. Bowman or Detective J. Locklear at 910-433-1947.
