— A 19-year-old man is facing charges Wednesday after a fight broke out at Westover Senior High School in Fayetteville, a Cumberland County sheriff's spokeswoman said.

A school resource officer used a Taser on Calup Clark Jr. when he refused to stop fighting with a 16-year-old student in the school's main hallway around 9 a.m.

Clark was charged with misdemeanor simple affray.

Authorities said Clark, a junior at Westover, was the aggressor in the fight. The other student was cited, but not charged.

GREAT JOB SRO!!!!! I am glad to know your parents and they are so proud of you. I wish we had SROs like you. The student19 year old one should be at a community college instead of beating on some child in the school. AGAIN GREAT JOB LEO AND SRO!!

100% agree with you Westernwake1. This guy is 19, a man at that age. Should have been charged with assualt, stiffer charge than 'affray'.

Unfortunately the school system keeps aggressive under-performing students in school till they are 21 -- where they mostly spend their time causing trouble. They should kick these overage students out as soon as they are 19 and not a senior -- and force them to go to community college for a GED.

Notice how they refer to him as a "19 year old man" and the kid he was fighting with a "16 year old student". This man should be at the community college with the other adults trying to get either a high-school diploma or GED.
