FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Charlotte police found and arrested a Fayetteville man late Tuesday in connection with a May shooting that crippled a man investigators call his one-time friend.

Audwin Pierre Lindsay Jr., 24, of 7878 Barfield Drive, is accused of shooting Carlos Manuel Sanchez, 30, on May 28.

Witnesses said Sanchez and another man were arguing in the 5600 block of Summerwind Drive when the other man pulled out a gun and opened fire, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

A family member found Sanchez wounded and bleeding on his living room floor, authorities said. The injuries left him a quadriplegic.

Lindsay faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Investigators said that Lindsay and Sanchez were friends before the shooting.
