A man posing as a fire marshal has stolen items from several Fayetteville businesses while conducting "inspections," police said Monday.

<b>FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.</b> — A man posing as a fire marshal has stolen items from several Fayetteville businesses while conducting &quot;inspections,&quot; police said Monday.

Police didn't disclose the names or locations of the businesses that had been targeted, noting only that a Rolex watch was among the items taken.

Anyone who has information about the man's identity or the thefts is asked to call the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1856.
