Fayetteville Police Investigate 2 Fatal Crashes

Fayetteville police are investigating two fatal vehicle crashes that happened in less than an hour.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are investigating two fatal vehicle crashes that happened in less than an hour.

The first wreck happened at about 10 p.m. Saturday on Riley Road. Investigators said the crash involved two vehicles. One person was killed.

The second wreck happened at about 10:45 p.m. near the intersection of Strickland Bridge and Hackney roads. Alejandro Carrichi lost control of a Chevrolet Corsica, authorities said. Passenger Edgar Gonzales was killed. Pedro Gonzales, Mario Torrbio and Carrichi were injured and transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Their conditions were not available.

The name of the victim in the Riley Road accident has not been released.

The cause of both wrecks remained under investigation Sunday morning.
