FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville officials said Friday that city officials will begin super chlorination of its aquatic facilities this weekend in an effort to combat potential parasites.

The super chlorination process will not alter any regular operating hours of the facilities, officials said.

The city has pools on Slater Avenue and Bonanza Drive, and a splash pad is located on Fisher Street.

Crews will begin the process at 8 p.m. Sunday and work until the close of business on Monday. The pools and splash pad will reopen as scheduled on Tuesday.
