Charges dismissed in Fayetteville child pornography case

Edwin Lamont Ware, of 2724 Rivercliffe Road, is charged with five counts of second-degree exploitation of a minor and three counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Investigators searched Ware's home in November 2012, finding dozens of videos showing children as young as 8 years old engaging in sexual activity with men. An undercover investigation identified Ware's home as a distribution point for the material, authorities said.
Ware, who resigned from his position as a student services specialist at Fayetteville State University, was in the Cumberland County jail Friday under a $125,000 bond. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance May 30 at 2:30 p.m.
