— Fayetteville police have charged a man in connection with two Internet cafe robberies.

Darrell Alan Thompson, 21, of 2421 Ireland Drive, was charged Tuesday with robbery with a dangerous weapon and second-degree kidnapping. The charges stem from an Aug. 1 robbery at the Lucky Charms Internet cafe at 1111 Ireland Drive.

Thompson was already facing charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault on a female, two counts of safe-cracking and second-degree trespassing in connection with an Aug. 4 robbery at the Lucky Charms Internet cafe in Hope Mills.

Thompson was being held in the Cumberland County jail under a $125,000 secured bond for the Hope Mills robbery. He has a bond hearing Tuesday afternoon for the Fayetteville charges.

"Is that Internet cafe" as in "gambling den"?

No--it is a business no different than any other and we, as workers in those businesses, working hard to care for our families, deserve to be protected from criminals the same as employees working in a bank. What does where someone work or what business someone breaks in have to do with any of this. Let me guess, if the employee had been shot, or God forbid, killed, it would've been their own fault, huh? Please seek God!

"Is that "Internet cafe" as in "gambling den"?" Nope. It is where the internet is bought and sold apparently. Thank goodness they caught this guy and the internet didn't get stolen so we can all interact on GOLO.

The judges and defense attorneys should be on the hook for anyone out on bail, probation or parole. They should face criminal charges if they're involved in the release of someone who commits a crime while out on bail, probation or within 36 months of parole.
