Fayetteville bank robbed

Posted March 25, 2011

— Police were searching Friday for a gunman who robbed a Fayetteville bank.

A man went into the First Citizens Bank branch at 2617 Bragg Blvd. shortly after 10 a.m., displayed a handgun and fled in a mid-1990s, blue Buick four-door sedan with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

The robber was described as a black man, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall and 230 to 250 pounds. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and was carrying a gray backpack with orange straps.

Police said they consider the robber armed and dangerous and ask that anyone with information contact their local law enforcement agency.

It's a good thing that law abiding citizens are still not permitted to have legal concealed carry in banks. I certainly would not want anyone to get in the way of a criminal pointing guns and robbing people.
