Father: Girlfriend kidnapped 2-year-old girl at Dunn gas station

Devonte Caldwell, the girl's father, told police that Dixon is his girlfriend. He said he left Jada in the car with Dixon while he went inside the convenience store. "I think it was done out of spite -- she's done it before," said Caldwell.

DUNN, N.C. — Dunn police responded to Love's gas station Saturday around 9:40 p.m. in reference to the kidnapping of 2-year-old Jada Caldwell.

The child is described as a black female last seen wearing a black sweat suit and black Jordan sneakers. She is 2 feet four inches tall and weighs 50 pounds.

She may be with 33-year-old Mazda Dixon. Dixon is described as a black female with light skin and red hair. She was last seen wearing a purple hoodie, a long black overcoat and blue denim jeans. She is driving a dark silver Dodge Journey rental SUV.

Devonte Caldwell, the girl's father, told police that Dixon is his girlfriend. He said he left Jada in the car with Dixon while he went inside the convenience store.

"I think it was done out of spite -- she's done it before," said Caldwell.

Jada and her father were on their way to South Carolina to visit her mother, officials said.
