FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A former Cumberland County elementary school Parent Teacher Association president has been charged with embezzlement, authorities said Monday.

Lesia Marie Gunn, 37, of 750 Gayron Drive in Fayetteville, was arrested after authorities said she forged checks on the account of the Warrenwood Elementary School PTA. An audit determined that $9,255 was unaccounted for, they said.

Gunn was released on her own recognizance and was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
