Ex-prison guard charged with sex crime

Ricky Campbell, 46, of 412 Linden St. in Fairmont, was charged Monday with sexual activity by custodian.

An inmate at the minimum-security Robeson Correctional Center reported to prison officials that a sexual incident occurred between him and Campbell in a prison bathroom on Sept. 28, authorities said. Campbell worked at the prison at the time.

The state Department of Correction turned the investigation of the case over to the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.
