Raleigh, N.C. — The 2009 North Carolina State Fair set a fourth single-day attendance record when more than 90,000 people entered the gates Friday.
Friday's total of 90,166 fair-goers broke the record of 88,822 set in 2004 for attendance on the second Friday.
The State Fair has also set records for attendance for Tuesday and for the first and second Thursdays. This Thursday scored an attendance of 108,929 people.
Overall, attendance for the first nine days of the Fair is up about 18 percent from last year. So far, nearly 695,000 people have come to the fair this year.
