Here's how to find money at the fair

Missing money could be just a click away

The Department of the State Treasurer is encouraging North Carolinians to stop by the NC Cash booth during visits to the State Fair over the next 10 days.

At the booth, visitors can search the department's unclaimed property database to see if they could be owed money from abandoned bank accounts, utility deposits, stocks, bonds or other cases where cash may have been forgotten. Last year, fair visitors claimed more than $140,000, State Treasurer Janet Cowell said.

Can't make it to the fair? Search the unclaimed property database any time at www.nccash.com.
