Greg HutchinsonHear it from Hutch: Local bands on the move
The music scene in the Triangle is booming with local bands playing all kinds of music. WRAL News photojournalist Greg Hutchinson introduces you to some up-and-coming musicians you need to be hearing.

Hear it from Hutch: Schooner

Man, what an awesome group of people. Even if I hadn’t heard their music, I’d like the band Schooner just by meeting them.

I was so taken by the personality and class running through this Carborro, NC quartet…I almost forgot I was on a shoot.

Then, they played a song off their unreleased album (which is coming soon), and now, I’m hooked.

That’s all it took.

Schooner is currently un-signed and will be touring in the fall.

Their next scheduled gig is July 11th, when they are one of the lucky bands to open for Joan Jett.
