ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Two men working on utility poles for Lee Electrical Construction Inc. were burned Wednesday in Rocky Mount.

Neither man suffered life-threatening injuries, Richard Worsinger, director of utilities for the town, said Thursday.

The men were part of a crew working to replace old, wooden utility poles with newer, metal ones in the vicinity of North Wesleyan Boulevard and Old Mill Road, Worsinger said.

Both were taken to area hospitals. The first man was treated and released from Nash General Hospital. The second man was being treated at the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
