East Wake Academy's ex-headmaster indicted
The former headmaster of East Wake Academy has been indicted on charges stemming from allegations by two school employees who say he acted inappropriately toward them.
Posted — UpdatedBrandon Smith, who was the top administrator at the Zebulon charter school for 10 years, was indicted Tuesday on two counts of sexual battery and two counts of assault on a female.
The two employees claim that Smith inappropriately touched them, and one of them told authorities that he solicited her for sexual acts, according to a search warrant in the case.
Smith was fired in March, and he later sued his accusers, but a judge dismissed the lawsuit in November.
Smith has denied the claims.
