ZEBULON, N.C. — The former headmaster of East Wake Academy has been indicted on charges stemming from allegations by two school employees who say he acted inappropriately toward them.

Brandon Smith, who was the top administrator at the Zebulon charter school for 10 years, was indicted Tuesday on two counts of sexual battery and two counts of assault on a female.

The two employees claim that Smith inappropriately touched them, and one of them told authorities that he solicited her for sexual acts, according to a search warrant in the case.

Smith was fired in March, and he later sued his accusers, but a judge dismissed the lawsuit in November.

Smith has denied the claims.
