Durham Teen Wanted in Robbery, Shooting

Durham police are searching for a teenager wanted on robbery and shooting charges stemming from a crime last month.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are searching for a teenager wanted on robbery and shooting charges stemming from a crime last month.

Terry Demetrius Lee, 16, of 905 East Club Boulevard, is wanted in connection with the Jan. 20 shooting of a man who was walking in the 1100 block of Gurley Street when three people approached him and demanded money, police said.

When the victim told them he had no money, one of the assailants shot him in the thigh, according to investigators.

Lee is wanted on charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He is about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 160 to 170 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes.

Another teen, Ronald Ambrister, 18, of Wake Place, was arrested Jan. 20 in connection with the crime and charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a dangerous weapon inflicting serious injury.
