Durham spends $1M in overtime
The City of Durham paid $1.3 million in overtime last fiscal year, according to the city's auditor.
Posted — UpdatedDURHAM, N.C. — The City of Durham paid $1.3 million in overtime last fiscal year, according to the city's auditor.
The police department spent nearly $412,000 for 13,000 extra hours. More than two-thirds of that has been attributed to a crime prevention program, Operation Bulls Eye.
Water Management racked up an extra 11,000 hours, and Solid Waste had an extra 7,000 hours.
