A 12-year-old girl told police that a man tried to kidnap her at a Dollar Tree store in Durham on July 11.

DURHAM, N.C. — A 12-year-old girl told police that a man tried to kidnap her at a Dollar Tree store at 1517 Glenn School Road in Durham on July 11.

The girl said that the man approached her and spoke to her in Spanish, and when she ignored him, he grabbed her by the wrist, police said. The girl pulled away, injuring her wrist, and ran away.

On Thursday, police released photos from surveillance cameras of the man, who they described as Hispanic, between 25 and 40 years old. He has a medium build, a thin mustache and short, black and gray hair. He was wearing a dark blue hat with sunglasses on top of it, a blue T-shirt with "Duke" on the front and back, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.
