Durham police seek Raleigh man wanted in shooting, home invasion

Durham police have filed charges against one of two men they say are responsible for a shooting that happened early Saturday during a home invasion on Hidden Springs Drive.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police have filed charges against one of two men they say are responsible for a shooting that happened early Saturday during a home invasion on Hidden Springs Drive.

Stephen Tabias Whitted, 30, of Raleigh, is wanted on charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Officers say Whitted and another man, both of whom were armed, entered a home shortly after midnight Saturday and shot a 35-year-old man. 

The victim was taken to a local hospital for the treatment of serious injuries, and the suspects took a phone from the home.

The second suspect involved in the incident has not been identified.

Police said the incident did not appear to be random.
