Durham police were searching early Tuesday for a missing 59-year-old woman who is believed to be cognitively impaired.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police were searching early Tuesday for a missing 59-year-old woman who is believed to be cognitively impaired.

The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Wendy Ann Coutant at about 12:30 a.m. after she went missing from an apartment in the 200 block of Eatondale Road.

Coutant is white, stands 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. She has short brown hair and brown eyes.

Coutant wears glasses, uses a walker and is unable to speak due to a medical condition. Durham police said Coutant should be traveling with her father, Richard Coutant.

The pair could be in a dark blue 2004 Chevrolet Venture with New York license plate BGW7879.
